Our 5-Step Block Paving Cleaning & Restoration Process

Pre-Treatment Weed Killer (10 Days Before): We apply a specialized treatment 10 days before your scheduled clean. This gives the formula time to activate, destroying weeds from the root up so they do not return.

Whirlaway Pressure Washing: We clean the blocks using a heavy-duty Whirlaway machine to strip away old sand, dirt, and grime. We immediately follow this with an industrial vacuum to suck up all dirty water and debris, which we collect and legally dispose of off-site.

Softwash Chemical Treatment: We apply a professional-grade softwash solution to eradicate stubborn algae, lichen, and black spots. This step is vital, as biological black spots cannot be removed by high pressure and water alone.

Kiln-Dried Re-Sanding: Once the surface is completely dry, we sweep brand-new, clean kiln-dried sand into all the joints to stabilise the paving blocks.

Premium Protective Sealer: Finally, we apply a high-quality block paving sealer. This hardens the jointing sand, locks it securely between the blocks, protects and enhances the colour of the blocks.

Q: Will the pressure washing blast away my jointing sand and cause weeds?
A: Our process strips away old, contaminated sand and weed roots. Once the blocks are completely dry, we sweep brand-new, clean kiln-dried sand into all joints and apply a premium sealant to lock the sand in place. Although we do a free initial weed kill, new weeds can return so a weed killer is advised to be used every 3 to 4 months to stop the weeds from getting out of hand. We also offer a weed killing service. -
Q: Can you remove heavy oil stains and tyre marks from concrete or tarmac?
A: Yes. While oil can permanently dye surfaces if left for years, we use specialist, trade-grade biodegradable chemical treatments to lift and significantly fade stubborn oil spills and tyre tracks safely without damaging the driveway, however there can sometimes be a ghosting effect, which we could then apply a tarmac restorer. -
Q: How long does the block paving cleaning and sealing process take?
A: A standard driveway usually takes 2 separate visits depending on the weather. We do the deep pressure wash, vacuuming, and chemical treatments on Day 1. We then return on a dry day to complete the kiln-dried re-sanding and sealant application. -
Q: How often should my driveway or patio be professionally cleaned?

A: For optimal results and to prevent the return of stubborn black spots and weeds, we recommend having your exterior hard surfaces professionally cleaned and treated every 12 to 24 months depending on shade and weather exposure.
